who I am

I am a Philadelphia-based, award-winning communication strategist, who has been called a ‘social media guru’ by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Prior to founding Making Headlines, I worked at two large Philadelphia ad agencies.
Making Headlines was born the same year as my first child, to provide more balance than agency life in the mid-1990s. My son and the Internet grew up together, providing me with a way to forge a new path in PR.
My journey made its own headlines on national TV and in various newspapers, wire services and magazines.

what I do

my values

I help organizations frame and deliver their message to influence behavior and impact opinions.
I serve clients in myriad industries and have expertise in healthcare, women’s health, education, Jewish communal life, retail and nonprofit.
My former and current clients include Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), Penn Medicine, WXPN, American Heart Association, Jewish Family & Children’s Services, Wawa and Philadelphia Futures.

I help train aspiring PR professionals by teaching at Temple University’s Klein College of Media & Communication.

My middle child is my greatest success story. Diagnosed in second grade with Tourette Syndrome, today he works in disability advocacy and policy in D.C.

Navigating the education system for my son shaped my life and my outlook. I believe that normal is overrated, our challenges embolden us, and we must speak truth to power. Most of all, I believe in the power of our stories.
You will find my son's story among the clips on the Bylines, Quotes & Mention page. If you want to understand the power of my work, simply Google his name: Adam Fishbein.
